Therapy is a safe space in which for you to slow down with a professional to explore what’s going on for you and why you may be experiencing uncomfortable feelings more than you feel you should be. It should be a compassionate space with no judgment. This should allow you, in time to drop your defences so we can bring to the light thoughts feelings and perhaps memories you have suppressed and put into your unconscious.
Each client is individual so there is no one size fits all. Rather, the therapy approach is tailored to your individual needs and personality traits. Through exploration we may discover unprocessed or complicated grief or trauma.
We may also identify false and unhelpful narratives previously operating out of your awareness that need to be challenged and updated. You may have an unhelpful thinking style that causes your anxiety to spiral or perhaps you ruminate about the past. It is a process of discovery that builds self-awareness and helps us identify the changes needed for you to live more meaningfully and authentically.
